Craftsmanship
Currently, ”AI” and Industry 4.0 are the focus of many discussions. At the Cleff company, we are also having a tendency toward more automation, but there are still regions of industry where clearly defined boundaries set the limits. We also encounter these limits, as our daily work is defined by a high level of manual craftsmanship – and this will continue to be the case. Window construction does not only need manual dexterity, but rather the right “feeling“ for materials and construction parts, which can only evolve after many years of working in window construction.
An example: Our staff in assembly bring window frames in the right form with exactly targeted blows with a hammer and can thus align frames with exact tolerances.
Only a few employees have this highly specialised ability after a lot of experience – and thus the above-mentioned ”feeling” is only able to develop after many years of working in window construction. An ability, which even the most ingenious robots are not able to perform, even today …
The same also applies to construction: numerous developments are determined by creativity. Many vehicle doors require very individual solutions on account of the special installation situation and the high demands, e.g. on their pressure tightness. In this case, considerable constructive creativity is needed in order to provide acceptable results which can be implemented and keep the cost aspects in mind at the same time.
Individual developments, as they are offered by the Cleff company, always rely on the individual expertise of our staff in construction and assembly – and we are proud to have such talented employees and their individual abilities.
